Video 2 and 3 insights:
When reading aloud students concentrate on the pronunciation rather than understanding what they read. They are frozen in video 2, no movements.
But if make reading more entertaining, as in the video 3, the students enjoy it, they are relaxed, because it seems like a game, and we all love playing games and learning through fun. Small but very powerful change has been made!

ReplyDeleteYou are the first person who has used the word entertaining in any comments about any of the videos. I think it is a powerful word and I had not previously thought of what the students were doing as entertaining. But when I re look at the video indeed they seem very entertained! WOW. I think this word is more powerful than game and fun.
